I've also just had the same thing happen to me when left clicking to open the player card from the 'player tracker' screen. Tried it 3 times just to make sure and it crashed each time.

Well version 6.02a is installed...and this problem still hasn't been fixed. Is it actually going to be fixed or is it such a low priority that people using Win98 or ME will have to put up with it and use a work around on the basis that the minority isn't important?

I know this is irrelevent now (but not for next time) but I'm frustrated and just want to vent, so ............ for the life of me I can't see how this ever got through the beta testing without being spotted, it's not as if it's exactly hard to duplicate!

And if it is not going to be fixed, the requirements for the game should be changed. The main page says Windows 95 required, 98 recommended. Had I known that the game would be crashing, I would not have purchased it.

Make a copy of you present dll (backup) and go get this version here and give a try.

Maybe it can fix the problem, we never know.

First copy you existing dll to another place or rename it comctl32.sav
Second, just need to unzip the file in windows/system directory
this should create again the comctl32.dll file

It is more complicated now that we know that, You need to boot in DOS mode (or maybe in safe mode not sure) and do all the job manually. This is hard to do in this case and I dont want you to make any mistake and not be able to reboot your PC after.

I think this should be try by OOTP Dev.
