Playoff bug

I just played an entire season (1975) and made it to game 7 of the NLCS, yet there are no more games on the schedule. I would really like to finish the year, as this is the first time I've managed to make the playoffs. Any idea how to finish the playoffs?

Angry Playoff Bug - No Championship schedule after playoffs

Hey, saw your post and am experiencing the same problem. I'm in my third season and changed playoff formats before the start of the season.

I have 2 divisions. In the past I ended the season with a single championship series. In the current season, I switched up so that there would be a playoff series followed by a championship. Once the first series was complete, I couldn't get a schedule for the Championship. I've simulated up to 10/23 and still no games. Obviously, there's a legacy artifact from previous seasons that isn't acknowledging the multiple series.

Did you get a fix for this? I haven't figured out where to adjust the schedule. I just want to finish this season so I can move on to the next year. It won't let me though. That would suck since I've played every game over 3 seasons. If anyone knows of a way to manipulate the schedule so I can get the final series in, please pipe in!!!
Thanks,
Mister Gogolak

What "league structure" are you both using? Two "leagues"?

I have a two league structure with no divisional breakout. In the expanded standings, it lists (my labels) AL as "Division" in the header and NL as well. I just noticed on the standings screen that it shows the World Championship Series as best of 7, but the World Series as Best of 0.

So am I reading correctly when you said you adjusted the playoff structure "in season" this year? If so, that is probably the problem and not sure if editing the sked will help but you could try.

As far as I recall, I changed the schedule BEFORE the start of this season. I'd love to try editing the schedule. I imagine it's in the schedule.dat file. What should I use to try and edit the file?

If I can't edit the file, is there anyway to fake the end of the season? At least that way I could continue on to the offseason and maintain continuity in the franchise.

DOH! Ask a stupid question.... Anyhow, it looks hosed. I'm not sure where I screwed it up, but I did a pretty good job.

Played a single playoff game and concluded the season. Should I edit the playoff structure for the following season before I "continue on to next season"?

Make a copy of the league then I'd do that, if it messes up you've got a point to restore to. Just make a copy of the whole "XXX.lg" folder.

I was playing an historical league with the standard two league, two division format. It's irrellevant now, as I scratched the season.

Bump. I'm now having this problem in an online league. I didn't make ANY schedule changes this season (though I did alter the homefield advantage bug in last year's playoffs).

We finished with a tie for a division league and poof! No further schedule.

Any thoughts on how to remedy this? I'd HATE to lose a great online league for an entire season due to a game bug.

I tried scheduling the one-game tie-breaker, in hopes that simming it would populate the playoffs. No dice. Things are still blank (but last years playoff schedule is showing up WAY after the current date).

TIA for any help,

-E

Wow! This seems like a bad one. Do you think you could give a chronological order, in detail, of everything you did from creating your league, all the way to this point? I'd like to see if I could replicate the "bug" and possibly find a solution. Everything you can remember, especially all the settings.

Below, the league setup is listed. In addition, last year we added a 9-game World Series, instead of 7. This was changed in the pre-season. I then altered the playoff schedule previous to the World Series, in order to give homefield advantage properly, and give an extra day of rest between games. This year, things have purred along perfectly until now.

This may take some time so check back later. Hopefully I can find out where it goes wrong.

Tried to download but the page says "for registered users only". Should I register temporarily?

Yeah, go ahead, or if you'd prefer not to, just let me know. I'll post it elsewhere.

Thanks for looking at this thing. I'm a little worried about the state of our league if this is unfixable.

If it's out of the question, I'll just follow your settings and see if I can get the problem.
