There are various reports floating around saying that Peavy wants to stay in the National League.

Then again, there are reports saying that he's likely to accept the trade. Won't know for sure until he says yes or no.

Thanks for the announcement. It looks like if he agrees to the deal, he could be starting for the Sox this weekend. That's just super.

It is surely a relief to know that the front office of the sox is not in DELETE F****** EVERYTHING mode and dumping salary. After all, it's a weak division and the sox are only 5 games back, despite getting spanked pretty much every way possible over the past couple weeks. plus...the sox have the advantage of playing interleague against Pittsburgh this weekend and 6 games against the blue team in town that is bound to be eating dookie by the middle of next month

I can't believe the Pads are settling for Poreda, Richard and some lower prospects. They can do better than that.

In the pre season I think Jake would only agree on a trade to the Cubs.
I think a trade to the White Sox might be good for him. They are known to spend money when they have too and could give him a lucrative contract extension.

On a secondary note, those 'Camo' Padre uniforms are probably the worst sports uniform I have ever seen. Does San Diego have a large population of white trash or something

If I was a Padres player I would refuse to take the field in those things.

They wear it for Military Appreciation Day. They would give us a lot of tickets and wear the camo for the date. Both the Pads and the Chargers are very good to the very large military community in San Diego, and vice versa.
