Custom Award question

Okay, how exactly does this feature work? Does the award get listed on the Awards page.

Say I wanted \to establish the Ty Cobb Award and give to the batting champ each season, how would I do so? Are you able to tell OOTP the criteria and it awards the winner, or is the custom award 100 per cent a manual selection type deal.

Thanks, feel like an idiot.

You have to select the winner of the award yourself, at least that's what I had to do. It gets listed on the awards page as well. No idea what happens if you don't make a selection yourself as the AI has no idea what the award is for.

If you don't select anything yourself, then it is not awarded.

The "simplest" way to handle custom awards is if you name the award, ensure that you submit a ballot. If you do, then assuming you're the only vote, whoever you vote for will win.

If you do not wish to vote for any other awards, you don't have to. If you don't submit a vote in a category we will simply "skip" counting the ballot when determining the awards.

The custom award I use in my fictional league is an award that is given out in the NHL. It's called the "Hart" but you can name it whatever you want. Basically it goes to the player that is most valuable to their team. It's fun to decide at the end of the year in my league who gets it. Although there are only 12 teams so it's a little easier to figure out who I think would get it since there are less players than in the MLB.

I imagine bronze spikes are much more useful than a gold glove or silver/platinum bat - the latter two are far too heavy.

Why? Everyone knows that Rickey Henderson was the greatest base stealer of all time. In fact I can even remember watching him on TV telling America exactly that.

I think he said "I AM THE GREATEST" and never specified at what is why he got some grief, but I can be wrong as I usually am.

Thinking about totally "stealing" the Bronze Spikes Award idea, I like it. I often wondered what I could do with the custom award.

My custom award is the All-Star Game MVP. Just figured it was neat to honor the player who was the best player on the field in a game that theoretically features the best players in the game.
