Start with expansion draft?
So, what I'd like to do, is start an historical simulation with an expansion draft, IF I pick a team in it's first year (e.g. the '61 Senators).
Is this possible? If I just start the game in the straightforward way I start after the draft, with the historical players/lineup. |

Create the league the season before the expansion (1960 in your exemple), simulate that season and take over the team you want before the expension draft.
I'm positive it'll do what you want. |

You can't do this. You have to simulate at least one full year and then run your expansion draft during the off-season.
So, if you want to manage the '61 Senators, you need to start your saved game in 1960, set yourself as unemployed, and then take over the Senators once the league expands and starts preparing for the expansion draft. |
