He did. His agent warned of it and Peavy made it official.

He wants to stay in the NL.

On a secondary note, those 'Camo' Padre uniforms are probably the worst sports uniform I have ever seen. Does San Diego have a large population of white trash or something
If I was a Padres player I would refuse to take the field in those things.
You obviously havent seen the Astros uniforms of the 70s and 80s then. (or pretty much any uniform of the 70s for that matter, damn I hope they were just color blind that decade)

The White Sox are taking care of their end of that deal.

San Diego is a city with a significant military influence on it and they were those to sort of honor it. Quite a few times you will see a large collection of people in the stands from the military.

Probably not the best looking Uni's ever, but I think its kinda cool they break them out from time to time.

If I was their marketing department I would go with something else. Discounted tickets, bobbleheads of the Joint Chiefs of Staff...anything but those uniforms!

I would say the Marlins,Mets,Cardinals would want him.
Maybe Peavy and Kevin K or Brian Giles to the Mets for Holt,Fernando Martinez,Petersen and so on?

Agreed. Solidarity with the troops is important in a city like San Diego.

I still wonder why pro basketball never really caught on there. Both the Rockets and the Clippers failed there, and I believe they had an ABA team at one point as well.
