Wrong Billy Hamilton photo 1901
Every time I play the 1901 season (OOTP 13,14,15,16,17, and 18) a black Billy Hamilton photo comes up. I've gone into the photo folder and saw another Billy Hamilton picture along with the one that pops up in 1901. The other picture is probably more representative of the era unless Billy Hamilton broke the color barrier in 1901.
Also, Jimmy Williams always shows up as a face gen.. Isn't there a real picture of him somewhere? Thank You. |

If you're talking about Jimy Williams the ex-Blue Jays manager, try using just one "m" and see what happens.
Of course, the Billy Hamilton "problem" come from the fact that the game can't distinguish between modern-day Billy Hamilton and Slidin' Billy Hamilton because neither are using middle initials in the database...

There are quite a few players with the same name. The middle initial is very important to distinguishing between them.

Wait until you get to all the Bob Miller's. Baseball-reference has been redesigned and has gotten rid of middle initials. They go by the years the player played, now. If you type in Bob Miller, you get a list of Bob Miller's with no middle initials. You can only tell by looking at the years played. And clicking on one of the Bob Miller's won't show you a middle initial. I for one do not like this change. Have to look elsewhere for the players middle initial. Joe Morgan is another one. Many others. I fix them as I come across them.

Yes, I believe the database has the correct names along with the middle initials.
The problem is photos and facegens may not match the names in the database. At least pertaining to same names. |

The Jimmy Williams I was referring was a very good player from that played from 1899 to 1909. I don't think he was around to be the manager of the Blue Jays. There is a good picture of him at baseball reference.

The Facepacks of TNfoto match pretty well. He keeps up with the initials.

I have last year's also, but he updates really well. Everyone should take advantage of the facepacks. Last edited by zappa1; 04-07-2017 at 10:43 AM. |
