How much record-keeping do you do?
For those of you following one team over multiple years, I wonder how much record-keeping you do by hand or computer?
I am beginning to find this tedious and probably pointless, but I find myself keeping a record of players (to track changes in ratings, mostly) in a word processor, and on spreadsheets some basic season stats for all players and some end-of-the year team stats. Sure would be easier if the program did this for us! So, how much do you all do? Are you all frolicking beerily at the pool while I am doing bookkeeping? |

I take screen shots (final leader boards, World Series box scores, trades, rare plays etc) and use Evernote to store them in folders.

Thanks for the Evernote tip. I'm beginning to use Evernote (for a different purpose) and might try this out for final standings and end-of-season team performance.
How often do you look back on those Evernote screenshots? I suspect that I am keeping records that I will never really look back on. My primary interest is in tracking players' ratings and performance, so using a spreadsheet or hand-written notes seems as efficient as screenshots. |

I create a folder for each season. I look over the seasons now and then to review how my team has developed and to compare one season to another. Just wrapped a 1960-79 game on iOOTP 13; finally starting a new one on iOOTP 14. My favorite note recaps my Cubs' 25-game winning streak in August 1974:
