Always nervous after I haven't checked my teams in a couple of days ....

Islanders are 59-48 Had a 13 game win streak the second half of June. Ben Sheets threw a 1 hit, 1 walk shutout at some point. Lead the division by 2 games.

Stunners are 58-48 and lead the division by a half game They had a 9-17 June too Not much else of note for them.

(I can't keep up with Diamond leagues. 2 seasons ago, both made playoffs. Last season, both just about avoided relegation. This season, both leading division by August )

Bob's Milwaukee All-Stars.... 78-28! And much more importantly, I finally won an All-Star MVP with Cecil Cooper The only worry on that team is that they're still only no.2 in Conference, and would currently be hosting a 73-34 team in the DS

Man, I should leave my teams alone more often

The Accountants got not one, but TWO gold achievements in August; a flyball triple play for 2k, and an immaculate inning by Roberto Osuna for 1k.

What a difference a week makes...

After sweating relegation right down to the beginning of October last week, the Frogs are fighting it out for 1st place this week like the good 'ol days of yore. Putting a 4-game sweep on the Delaware Blue Hens certainly helped matters as our two teams are now tied atop the NC Central with identical 80-53 records. Of course, the Frogs hold a 10-6 head-to-head edge over the Blue Hens now, so La Crosse gets the courtesy of being the first team listed in the division.

The Kennett Square Mushroom Caps are sitting one meager game behind the NC Central co-leaders. Can't count out those fungi.

All 3 division foes have a decent shot at making the playoffs--only the interloping Bensonhurst Blackbirds (77-56) can break up the NC Central par-tay.

The other 2 NC divisions have long been decided--the whale Kogarah Kings have a 24.5 game lead over Bensonhurst in the East. The whale Maine Gems actually clinched the West earlier today and are in front by a sizable 39 game margin there.

Barring a September meltdown, the New York Patriots may actually win a division title for the first time since 2027. A 20-win August put us in very good position to seal the deal tomorrow.

The positive about my current league is the top 6 teams are all in separate divisions. This is rare.

Of course, the WS will probably be the two wildcards?

I'm going to commit to the same experiment next week, so maybe we can compare stats? I picked up PEAK Craig Biggio so I figure running him and Smoky Burgess as an all-bat, no-glove catching platoon could be informative.

I like that you're not afraid to experiment like this (and there was also that "super defense" experiment). I'd definitely like to know how things go and I'll let you know once I do this experiment, but I won't do it until around the time I'm switching to a new team in PT21 so it may not be very useful by then.

Good news, bad news situation for the Frogs...you want the bad news first?

After sitting in a tie for 1st place at the beginning of today's sims, the Frogs were overtaken by the blistering pace set by the Kennett Square Mushroom Caps. The Caps went 101-61 and that was good enough to take the division by 4 games.

The good news is the Frogs (97-65, +141) get back to the playoffs after a week off. The Frogs will host the Bensonhurst Blackbirds (94-68, +138) in the wild card game for the "pleasure" of taking on the 123-win Maine Gems in the divisional round. The Frogs and Blackbirds played to a 3-3 tie in the regular season with three of those games decided by only one run. It looks to be 100 Carl Hubbell for the Blackbirds and 94 CC Sabathia for the Frogs. Advantage opponent...although the Frogs touched Hubbell up for 4 runs in 4 IP and Sabathia threw 7 IP of 1-run ball in their only starts against the other team.

Another bit of good news is 77 Tony Gwynn won his 2nd batting title in 4 seasons with the Frogs. He batted .351, which was a full 20 points ahead of Willie Keeler/Rod Carew. The Frogs also set new team highs in batting average (.297) and runs scored (844), and notched career win #1500 with the 400 PP that goes along with it.

One playoff team in 19, one in 20 this week; here it's the Accountants who resisted the urge of blowing a 6-game lead in early September, although it was 2 1/2 when I went to bed. They ended up first, 89-73, and four games up. Might have been the top seeds if they hadn't squandered it late…

Rebels ended 78-84, squat in the middle of nowhere. Oh well, they were newly promoted, and I just can't pull a gold card to improve my arse here. But I did pull another Minter. Minter drives me insane.

The Critters keep skirting relegation more or less comfortably, but also finished in the doldrums once more at 69-93. But for the first time in a good long while Big Walt won an ERA crown, so there's that. Helped me to a pack, the contents of which are below. You know, I already had one of those and I'm not even using him. What are the chances he goes to 90 tomorrow? Zero!

All 3 teams made the playoffs again.

Doha (115-47) won the division and the #1 seed, but due to the fact that the wild card game will feature two 109 win teams, the first round will be anything but easy.
The season's highlight was the starting pitching, with Eppa Rixey going 25-6 with a 2.34 ERA and Curt Schilling going 24-5 with a 2.31 ERA.

Great Lakes (96-66) had a very inconsistent season, getting the #2 wild card slot. The strangest stat was perfect Pedro pitching to a 2.34 ERA and only going 12-13. He will pitch the wild card, so I hope he can get some run support.

Perugia (99-63) won the #1 wild card seed and will host the Long Island Bushman (93-69). We went 2-5 against them in the regular season but this is another story.

Good luck in the playoffs all

After a triple-DS elimination last week, I am not looking at my teams until way later today. If they’ve qualified, they can handle it

Good luck to everyone playing today, shopping, ripping, and planning for next year!

The Colonels won their division and have the home field in the conference at 123-39. Curt Schilling (24-2, 2.50) lead the league in wins and Mickey Mantle (.316, 33, 111) helped us lead the conference with 217 HR. Our run differential of +409 was tied for third in the league. I have hope that this could be the year *fingers crossed* but it won't be easy with some very tough teams in the way.

The YakAnglers win their division with a record of 89-73, barely getting by the Sabula Zippers by one game. Our 92 Chris Short won the ERA crown and 93 Chris Carpenter got the most wins. We had the top three pitchers in ERA.

The Marathoners missed the playoffs by one game with a record of 85-77. A 6 game skid and 2-8 overall in late September was too much to overcome. Thought they were a lock for the playoffs before that.

The Miners lock up the 2nd wildcard with a record of 87-75. 89 Albert Pujols had a dismal season, batting .251 and 10 hrs.

Angels are back in playoff. a MVP season for Bonds (.331 39Hr 101 Rbi 1.102 Ops) and a great one for Pujols too (.301 24 Hr 119 Rbi).

Maybe a chance to win the first round, but always hard facing great club in playoff with a F2P team.

The Miners move on to the Division Series with a 9-0 win over the Barut Black Sox Blackies. Harry Brecheen went 6.2 innings and scattered 5 hits for the win, and Mel Harder finished it up with 2.1 innings and no hits. Pujols had a double and a triple.

Both Great Lakes and Perugia move on to the division series with perfect Pedro Martinez being the common theme. In fact Great Lakes won 5-2 against Casterly Rock behind a great performance by perfect Pedro, while Perugia beat the Pedro-led Long Island Bushmen 5-0.
