Garbled manager opinion on potential trade

What does this mean? (The next line is verbatim)

Your manager says: "your manager says: ""

I've had this bug since iOOTP11, I think. I used to believe it was a warning against old, high salary players, but I saw it recently about a young player.

Is it perhaps a warning that the player intends to be a free agent? If so, do such players ever change their mind once traded and negotiate extensions?

I would not mind seeing this bug fixed.

I've seen this when proposing a trade for a player that is eligible for free agency. I can't remember the missing quote, but it's the manager advising not to make the deal because the player may test the market when the season ends.(in iOOTP 2013)

That's the only time I have seen it. I always think to myself, "It must be a great (or terrible) trade -- he's speechless!"

The "" means the template is there but the developers never foresaw the situation arising, so there was no text to put between the quotes.

BTW in case you are wondering, I went through with one of these once and did not get the draft pick when he declared for free agency and signed elsewhere.
