Scout actions (Scout's "time" resource)

When I "request scouting report" for a current player, does that mean my scout spends time gathering that report and not doing other things like player discovery or working on his evaluations for the upcoming amateur draft?

Is his "time" limited in that he can only do so much in a given day or week? I'd rather he spend resourced finding me players, but if it doesn't matter, I'll request more reports to get a better idea of the players on this team I have just became the GM of.

No...I play with only beginning and end of season reports automatically generated so during the season I'm constantly having my scout perform individual scouting reports to see how minor leaguers are progressing or to get an idea of potential trade acquisitions near the deadline.

I still receive the proper amount of international player discoveries and the amateur draft is scouted as well as your scout can. Sending him to perform individual reports doesn't effect his other responsibilities.

A team doesn't have just one scout. The scouting director has an organization behind him that can do a lot of things at the same time.

I have the same setup as you and your right I only use ad hoc scouting for either a potential trade or if one of my players ratings looks off all a sudden. A lot of the times players suddenly decline and I need to get an updated report because re-scouting every single person in my universe each month is annoying although if there was a mid-season option to the beginning and end option I'd pick that in a heartbeat.
