Think any PEAK ;egend card, it doesn't represent the lows and averages of that player throughout his career, it's a PEAK year snapshot, the same that you see in the POTM cards.... the issue is that the cards are in packs for the year, what should happen is that they are only in packs for a very short time and very low weight making them extremely rare to balance things out.

To me it makes sense... an amazing month by DeGrom for example will be equivalent to any legendary PEAK year card, same goes for any given hitters.

On this point, this makes me want to see them go back and make historical PotM cards, like say Sosa '98 (record 20 homers in June). That could be pretty cool.

ha ha ha...And he hits...118 out for the year. ha...Wow. I mean...I guess that's why Saintsfan originally started this thread. Joe DiMaggio POTM from his 56 game hit streak, actually, he just got by most days but a guaranteed hit in every game.

Nice curveballs in a way.
Way overexaggerated ratings sometimes if they are puttin out actual performance for the seasons based on statistics for just the month.

The more I think about this, the more it bothers me. Having a card based on only one month seems very arbitrary and kills the "gathering a team of the best players ever" spirit of Perfect Team.

IMO the POTM cards should just lock in the players' LIVE ratings from the end of the month. It'll have a lot of the monthly performance baked in, but also previous stats and projections. So it's not overpowered, but it does have the benefit of being a non-fluctuating LIVE card. And it is rarer than LIVE cards too, and for those two reasons more valuable.

Something that should be changed at the latest in PT3.0.

Don't be so bothered... I've seen 2-3 POTM top cards....They are extremely rare.

oh the horror of there being a useable card that's somewhat different. Seeing 6 mike trouts in the all-star game every year is so much better.

And they're not based *entirely* on the month in question, or Riley's card would have like a 120 power. They're basically an over-weighted sample of the month in question.

They're still fairly rare cards, overall. Some are better than other cards around, some aren't. They're a fun extra to highlight some recent performances.

The $queeze will eventually get to the point where there are player of the day cards, and Jason Vargas will outperform Walter Johnson forever and ever.

They are ridiculous just like Future Legends that have played little or none.

Seeing one is too many in my opinion.
