George Brunet took the mound for the Colt .45s in the bottom of the eighth. Stuart hit a two run triple and later scored when Burgess grounded to first.

The Colt .45s traded RP Dean Stone and CF Ron E Davis to the Washington Senators for 1B Harry Bright.

Rumor has it that the Baltimore Orioles have placed RP Billy Hoeft on the trading block.

In the top of the ninth, with a runner on first and one out, George Brunet took the mound for the Colt .45s. Bailey hit a two run triple. Alou tied the game with a two out two run homer. McCovey later gave the Giants the lead with a two run double. Davenport brought McCovey home with a single. Hiller singled to load the bases. Dick Drott took the mound for the Colt .45s. Bailey singled to bring in his 20th RBI of the season. Harvey Kuenn, in his second at bat of the inning, added an RBI single. Alou grounded to third to finally retire the side but not before the Giants had scored nine times.

Stu Miller took the mound for the Giants in the bottom of the ninth.

The Giants ended up with 17 hits in the victory.
