I love this series of rating all of the fighters on an old historical card.

Thanks. I think that's only way I'll rate from now on, entire cards when doing a career replay.

Despite barely make a dent in the Robinson replay I've already got eyes on Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles and Willie Pep down the road.

They'll be some time before the next card as I'm focusing on finishing off rating each Welterweight who was included in The Ring Magazine groupings for 1941.

Looking forward to all to this, Bob.

Are these the extensive rankings in the Ring's February issue or 1941 top ten?

Yes the February issue rankings. Very slowly working my way through the groupings, currently third of the way through group 6 of 7.

Trying not to put a deadline on it but once complete going to plunge straight into 1942's rankings whilst attempting to press on with Robinson's cards.

Discovered a birth date for Gus Coen Levine. 1922-12-27.

Levine featured on 13 of Robinson's cards.

The two were boyhood friends who both learnt at Salem Crescent A.C.

In 1953 Levine was a bartender at Robinson's Harlem tavern when he was arrested for selling undercover narcotic agents 30 ounces of heroin.

Haven't posted new file with it added, but information now there for those who wish to add it themselves.

The Ring Magazine 1941 Welterweight Group Rankings part 1

I believe 1942 (for 1941) was the first time the publication detailed such extensive rankings.

I'll list those created with a note of group ranking.

Mike Kaplan - Group 1
Arthur Danahar - Group 3
Tony Marteliano - Group 3
Yussell Goldstein - Group 4
Jack Larrimore - Group 4
