Loved the game last night. I can't stand either team as a unfortunate Lions fan but I'm a huge fan of good defense. The league is constantly trying to re-work the rules to benefit the offense, and last night, maybe for one night, both D's took care of business. Of course, the people that like offense will find many ways to make excuses. :

Sloppy night for both teams. It was apparent how good both defenses were; if Rodgers can right the ship against worse defenses the Packers can be a real player in the NFC.

I'm much more worried about Chicago's offense yesterday. Both teams had to burn timeouts on offense, but two delay of game penalties for the Bears in one drive is unacceptable. Beyond that, Trubisky was inaccurate and should have thrown another pick or two. I'll hold off on burying tbe Bears, maybe Green Bay's defense emerges as a league best and this performance looks less bad, but Trubisky needs to get his stuff together or he'll continue to hold this team back.

Ya'll can call it good defense. I call it offense that hasn't shaken the rust off.

Oakland will not suspend Antonio Brown.

Stupid on the Raiders part. AB is one of 2 things: Either he can't control himself, or he refuses to control himself. If they suspended him, his $30m was theirs to hold if he became disruptive again. Then if AB did more AB things, you'd know he had no control and wasn't worth having to worry about sabotaging your team. Because 8 figures is a mighty big incentive to become a boy scout. Playing him, they assure he is going to act up again. People like AB behave like they do because the ones who can hold them accountable for their actions refuse to do so since they are so greedy for his talent. He needs reins.

Realized I missed a few games in my picks on the opening post, so I fixed that. Off to a bad start losing the thursday night game.

Looks like AB may be trying to get his way back into Oakland's good graces and that he needs them more than Oakland needs him.

He's trying to avoid playing in the XFL.

I'm not sure what the Raider's play is here, though I'm not sure the Raiders even know ... they haven't exactly known it since 86.

Without Antonio brown this is a bottom-3 team, with him they are bottom 5/6. Is going from 2-14 to 4-12 worth losing face?

They are playing for next year when they move to Vegas.

I don't know either. As long as they owe him $30m he has leverage. All they have to do is play one game without him (WHICH THEY HAVE DONE FOR THEIR ENTIRE EXISTENCE) and $30M is no longer a piano he has over their heads. It's one of the most short sighted moves I've ever seen a franchise make.

That's what it is. The Saints absolutely sucked last year until week 3 or 4. Week 1 has been a practice game for over a decade now. You can't go by the first few weeks of the season anymore. Gone are the days teams were prepared week1.

Sounds like he lost the guaranteed money which might give the leverage back to the raiders.
Maybe they should trade him because i dont know if he will just tank it for the season.
But other than the patriots who do you trade him to and what do you get?
I dont see them just releasing him now that they dont have to pay the guaranteed money.
You got to be some kind of stupid to lose guaranteed money.
All you had to do was show up to camp and be a decent human being.
Maybe they should trade him to the XFL.

My questions.....1. Who would want AB on their roster at ANY price? 2. Who would offer AB enough money for him to be willing to play? 3. What kind of value could you get for this guy? Seriously, would you be happy if your team gave Oakland a 7th rounder for this headache?

The guy has killed his career. Who is in this guy's life that loves him enough to tell him he needs help? At this point, in all honesty, I really wouldn't be surprised if he went like some of these disgruntled employees and started shooting up the Raiders' practice facility. He is nuts.

I do not know much about football but I can happily say that I predicted this Jon Gruden disaster when it began.

I almost said I wonder if the Seahawks would take a chance on him if he would take a discount but I doubt it.
