"Entered league as a free agent from an independent league."

I've seen this a couple of times now on AI players. These do not appear like the international scouting discoveries I get -- they are much older and usually slot into the high minors, and they appear to be signed in the winter.

I'd be grateful if someone can explain what this is and how, if possible, I can get in on some of these goodies.

these players are similar but different brand to discoveries or july 2nd IAFAs etc.

league settings - players(most likely)? options? one of the sub-tabs you see below league settings. can change # of created players of various types - IAFA, independent leagues, foreign pro players etc...

if you have these extra leagues running in your game world, you may want to turn this stuff off and let the rules allow iafa and discoveries probably would be left on either way, i guess.

I never changed anything from the defaults in those areas.

Do these guys just show up in the normal FA stream? If so, I'll just keep closer watch in the off-season for new arrivals. Otherwise I assume there's a specific place they appear?

I saw the "Posted Players" area but no players ever seemed to appear there.

yeah, the independent and foreign league players will show up day one of FA - an email lists them, i beleive. first day of free agency you get the customary email and it lists the foreign league players at the least. i do not create independent players, but assume they'd be on there too, or some other way to see who they are. been too long since i had them turned on in either fashion.

i think the 'posted' area would show names if you have the international leagues running in your game world -- not fictionally created but trickling into your league via normal means.
