Actionjackson/D.Watts Random ??
Anyone can answer but I know actionjackson and David play this way.
I decided while waiting for the next patch to come out I would set up a Random Debut League using neutral stats probably with 1949 as a base year for settings and modifiers. Hopefully the neutral stats will be fixed in the patch. I understand I need to uncheck the 2 "automatically adjust league strategy when advancing...." under the historical and stats &AI tabs. Also uncheck the "auto adjust league total modifiers after each season..." under the historical tab. Also leave uncheck under stats &AI tab the "automatically adjust league totals modifiers for accuracy" (I don't know what happens if you leave that one check). Now my question. I understand the day before season start you put your base year under the stats&AI tab on the right side where it says "totals from year. _____". Do you then or ever push the blue highlighted "auto-calc modifiers" button. I'm assuming not. In the past every time I touch the button the modifiers always change even though nothing else had changed so I just don't touch that button anymore. Thank you for your response and I'm looking forward to giving Random with a base year and neutral stats a try. |

Apparently, somewhere between OOTP16 (where I started and still keep and play this 52 season game) and OOTP18, something was introduced which tied stats output, strategy settings, player creation modifiers, and financial settings all to the same season, so adjusting one of them adjusts all four, which is a PITA, but apparently this can be overcome by unchecking all boxes that talk about automatically advancing to the next year for all four categories. You then have to manually import the financial settings for the next year every year as you advance. Not too much trouble really. I suggest doing it on the first day of the offseason (right after the playoffs). Let's say it's October or November, 1951 and you've just wrapped up the World Series. On the first day of the offseason, I would set my financials to "1952" so that the free agents who are going to get paid in 1952 get paid the proper amount. Keep asking questions if what I'm saying doesn't make sense. Last edited by actionjackson; 06-11-2017 at 09:00 PM. |

Thank you for your response. Exactly what I was looking for and it makes sense. I will ask questions if I have any problems but I think I now have a handle on it.
