32 Team Schedule Request

I looked through the list that gmo has made but could not find the type of schedule I was looking for. Before I ask someone else to make me a schedule, what is the best way to create one? Are there any good tools to make an unbalanced schedule?

The league setup I want to use is a 32 team, 2 league, 4 division, 4 teams per division. I was looking for a 144 game, 16 games per divisional opponent, 8 games versus non divisional opponent and no inter-league games with 4 game series instead of the typical 3 game set.

First, have the game make a balanced schedule for 8 games per opponent, no interleague, 4 game series. This is 120 games and export the schedule to a file.

Open this schedule in notepad and save it again with some other name.
Go through this schedule and delete all the games that do NOT have both teams between 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25-28, 29-32. So, for example, if 1 and 7 are paired, delete it because both teams are not between 1 and 4. After deleting all the non-division games, add 133 to all "game day=" . Copy this when done.

Now, load your first schedule, (in notepad) and paste your 2nd schedule to it. Edit the first line to be:
ILN_BGN_G144_SL1D4T4T4T4T4SL2D4T4T4T4T4" inter_league="0" balanced_games="0" games_per_team="144"

Save and you are ready to play.

Obviously, using a spreadsheet makes the edits trivial, the hard part is importing your results into notepad. I have never figured out how to make a schedule without the final product being in notepad.

Never mind. The PCL has a schedule similar to what you want. Only there are 16 games within division and 1 other division plus 4 games against the other 2 divisions. I imported the 2011 PCL schedule into the game 1 time for each sub-league and then exported the final product. It wouldn't be too hard to edit, to make it exactly what you want.

Several months ago No Pepper tipped me off about this web site which had a schedule maker. I have used it a few times to easily create a few schedules for my Great Lakes Baseball Association.

Before creating the schedule, you can either enter the name of each team or not enter any team names. After the program creates the schedule, you will either be forced to create your schedule by entering each game manually into the OOTP game or create your own schedule using notepad. If you plan on having Spring Training games, you will have to enter those in manually (at least I was forced to).
