The BSBL is now on OOTP19 and San Jose is taken! However, we had one owner who couldn't transition to OOTP 19, so we have an opening in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma was one of the titans of the BSBL when the league first started. The 89ers made the playoffs every year from 1952-54, lost in the championship round in 1956, and finally won the title in 1957. The 89ers made the playoffs again in 1959, getting swept, and that sweep ended the golden age of Oklahoma baseball. The 89ers have made the playoffs twice since then ('86 and '91), but if you take on the 89ers, your biggest job will be turning around this once proud franchise. The 89ers hold the #3 pick in next season's draft and have an interesting farm system, but the major league team does not have a lot of talent. If you are interested in building up a team from near scratch - this is the team for you!

We're going to get started with our first off-season sim with OOTP 19 on Monday, so there is still time to join the BSBL without missing any off-season sims!

OKC is taken! If you’re still interested in the league, however, let me know.

Turns out OKC remains available. We are still very early in the off-season - no major free agents have signed yet - so this is still a great time to join the league!

Once again, OKC is taken. However, we just learned that one more owner did not want to jump to OOTP 19, so after a little reshuffling, San Diego is now available.

San Diego is just beginning to reap the fruits of a rebuild. The Breakers made the playoffs for 5 consecutive seasons from 1987-1991, but after several disappointing playoff losses, the Breakers went into rebuild mode. After a few down seasons, the Breakers missed the '95 playoffs by just 4 games. If you take over San Diego, you'll start with the league's best CF and SP (per the position strength report) and additional top 5 players at C and 1B. The big thing San Diego is missing is bullpen and depth. The challenge? Most of San Diego's money is committed, so you don't have a lot of room to add free agents - you'll need to see what you can do via trade or skimming what free agents are willing to take smaller deals. With that said, if you want to jump into a team that is close to playoff contention, San Diego is a good deal.

We're part way through the off-season and plan to accelerate this coming week - so if you want to get in, let us know ASAP.

BSBL has one opening heading into the 1997 season. This time, it's the Kansas City Jacks that are available.

From 1960-1977, the Jacks were one of the glamour franchises of the BSBL, making the playoffs 10 times in that stretch and bringing home two titles. After a rough run through the '80's, the Jacks pulled it back together in the '90's, making it to the playoffs in '92, '93, and '95. This last season, '96, the Jacks made a late playoff push, but fell short, ultimately finishing the season at .500. If you take over the Jacks, you'll have a lot of flexibility in terms of planning. Use your cash to sign some free agents, trade some prospects, and make a playoff run? Or sell off those veterans, restock on prospects, and rebuild better than ever? You can pretty reasonably take either approach.

If you're interested, get in touch soon (details in first post of this thread) - there's still time to sign some free agents and get set for spring training!
