$ for Contract Extensions
I want to extend a players contract, but apparently have less money available for extensions than I need to sign him, even if I've got plenty of money available to sign free agents. Is there anyway to re-allocate money from FAs to extensions? Or is there a way to add more money for extensions using Commissioner Mode?

In Commissioner Mode, probably, but I don't know how for certain.
Otherwise, you're stuck. Your FA budget depends on who is under contract for the current season, while your extensions budget is based on who you have under contract for NEXT year. So if you have a player due a big raise, it will eat into your extensions money. |

In Commish mode, you can offer contracts that will put you over-budget, no questions asked.
The reason you can't re-allocate funds is because all those numbers are is a measurement of how much money you have available in your budget for each year. It's not a "pool" of money that you can dip into. Someone else raised this question a while back, here's how I explained it: Quote:

Non-commish mode, you could possibly trade a player that would result in reducing your salary payments for next season, that should increase your extension money. Also you can try just waiting until later in the season and his money demands may go down a bit - allowing you to squeeze him in.
