StatsLab Patch #1

StatsLab SQL Utilities for OOTPX Online Leagues

Download StatsLab Patch 1 for OOTPX

After a fair amount of work, I believe I'm finally ready to release patch number 1 for my StatsLab utils. There's a number of fixes included, as well as some major enhancements that I think begin to realize some of the cool potential of using SQL for this type of a utility. Again, many thanks to John of the PEBA for performing a lot of testing and providing a lot of suggestions. There have been many suggestions from others as well. I apologize if your favorite hasn't yet made it in.

There is a patch readme file included. I have not updated the utility's readme, so all the enhancements are in this new readme. If you've been running the development tracker, you will need to run a conversion, which is described in the readme.

If you've never installed StatsLab, you can install the base StatsLab and then the Patch over it with no conversion necessary.

Enhancement List:
- OOTPX Ratings now calculated correctly (exception is stuff affected by pitcher role)
- New playoff pages in Last Sim section
- New team stats pages in Last Sim section
- Player game logs available from Stats page in Last Sim section
- New graphing functionality available in Last Sim section
- Stats page in Last Sim can now toggle between the Last Sim and entire season
- New history pages for All-Star voting, End-of-Season Awards voting, and the amateur draft.
- New Team Leaderboards page in Career Metrics
- New ratings search page to help narrow down those trade targets
- Ability to split outfielders into their respective positions in All-Star and Awards voting
- Several other minor enhancements and fixes

As with all amateur development, there's probably some bugs that have slipped through the cracks. Feel free to send me any questions via PM or post them here in this forum. I tend to respond to PM's a bit faster, though.

I'm totally new to statslab. I've read the readme file but still have no clue how to get this to work? Any step by step help?

The original util readme has the instructions on installation. If there's a particular step that you're having trouble with, such as setting up the SQL database or uploading the files to your website, feel free to shoot me a PM with specifics.

There was a minor issue found with how the development tracker handles Ground Ball Percentage. If you've installed this patch, you'll need to reinstall and re-run the conversion to get it fixed. The link in the first post of this thread contains the fixed version.

I don't claim to be a web guru, but...

I am getting stuck on this step...

5. Point your browser to ootpsql/Conversion_1.php.

Can anyone be more specific, is there a link for this? A full path to type into my address bar?

Thanks in advance.
