Pitchers not pitching into the game
I am not sure if this is a bug or the way baseball is now days. I rarely have a pitcher go past 5 innings. Some last 3 or 4 or 5 if I am lucky. Is there a setting or strategy that I am missing to get them to last longer.

Yes in the team Strategy make the starting pitchers stay longer. Also My pitchers always go at least 7 innings and I have my strategy to pull them faster. Check your pitchers stamina because that has a lot to do with this also. Hope any of this helps.

Also in the players strategy there is a place to hook the player faster or let him go longer. I have a couple I actually have to pull the hook faster because they start to get harder hit in the late 7th or 8 th inning.

For me, the hook settings make a big difference here. Even one or two clicks either way lead to big differences in results.
Might want to boost yours a notch or two more and see what happens.

Conversely I've noticed my pitchers getting pulled with 8+ innings and a shutout still possible several times, while not having an excessive number of pitches and no pitch limit.
I wish there was a way to tell the manager to leave them out there when there is something noteworthy on the line? |
