Finding jersey numbers

so just wondering, is there any way to find out what jersey a player wore on your team after they have left and moved on to another team?

I am in a league where I had a few players play for my team for 10 or more seasons and have many team records that probably wont be broken .. what I want to do is retire those jersey numbers but ended their careers on other teams so the last jersey number in game is what they wore on the last team. Is is common that the game doesn't change the jersey number or when they change teams the number can change if someone on the new team has that number already.

But my main question is, once a player leaves your team is there any way to know what his number was when he played for your team.

Nope, there is no way.

You need to record these somehow, especially if it's a guy you've had for a while. Either via a spreadsheet or somewhere in their player history, just make a notation.

There's no file anywhere. And in commish mode, it's no different. You basically just need to keep track. Unless there's a screenshot of your player or someone just HAPPENS to remember, it's not something the game keeps track of.

However players mostly keep the same number, if possible.

If the Commish keeps regular backups of the league file from previous years he can find it there.

If the Commish kept an Almanac he can find it there.

So yes, it's possible there is a file the Commish has.
