Importing accurate financial settings and preventing relocation
Hello,
I'm trying to do a franchise mode in the 1950s. However I am running into many issues that I just can't seem to be able to solve. For starters I wish that the minor leagues, pre-1957, had financial systems which they really did back in those days. A lot of minor league franchises were very viable and signed players and later sold them to the much wealthier major league teams, with a reserve clause still in effect on those minor league rosters. They kept these players for as long as they wished until the Rule 5 draft, following five or six years of minor league service. I want to do a franchise with my hometown old PCL team, the Seattle Rainiers, however when I first tried out the minor league mode, I discovered that none of these historical features are present in the game. I was very disappointed by that. I find it too easy and boring to sign random players every year without getting into a bidding war. Having every minor league player in the leagues contract cost the same, doesn't sit well with me either, it just isn't much fun. The second issue that I'm running into is another '50s related problem. I wanted to do a game mode in which the Dodgers never left Brooklyn. I did this by turning off the expansion mode, however this prevented historical players from being added into the free agent or draft pool. I then went through the trouble of creating a couple of fictional leagues, however this game mode, for me, only imports random players from vastly different time periods and sometimes a lot of fictional players as well with too high ratings that are a pain to delete. I'm also bothered by the financial inaccuracy and inflated salaries and revenue that the game has for the reserve clause era. I'm more concerned about the expansion problem that I'm having, however, for instance, I was doing one game mode during the depression, and each club had like $500,000 in budget space. The majority of MLB teams during this time were actually losing lots of money, besides the Yankees. However, this can be mostly fixed by adjusting the financial settings, so I'm happy about that. I'm a fairly new OOTP gamer and if someone could help me find a way to keep the Bum's in Brooklyn, while doing what else I want to in the league, while new players are still being imported, that would be terrific. Thank you. |

Might want to have the thread moved to the appropriate ootp version/year forum.
Since 21 isn't out yet. If you have xx head to that sub forum. You'll have better luck. |
