"More/less offense" - how fix

In setting up my most recent solo game, in "Game Settings/Dynamically Evolving Lg", I checked "more/less offense"; curious to see what would happen. Wish I hadn't

10 yrs in, they "lowered the pitching mound" and now everyone is hitting .350.

Anyone know how to correct this?

Can I uncheck the box and return to the status quo ante? Can this be done mid season?

Some other corrective action?

Thx

I believe you can reset the league total modifiers in league settings.

The easiest way to fix this, of course, is to turn off league evolution before it has the chance to do this.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a little more offense. My favorite year of baseball was 1987 when people said that they though the ball was juiced as opposed to ballplayers. That was a fun year. And the very next year (1988) was the exact opposite.

Just wondering -- for those who know, is the OP's experience representative of the type of changes to offensive output with more/less offense evolution turned on? Or is this an extreme edge case, and most other times the changes are more subtle?

I have this option turned on in my league, as I like the idea of offensive output gradually drifting (either upward or downward) over time, but I'm alarmed at the notion of such an extreme shift. (I'm assuming this was not hyperbole and the league batting average had genuinely gone up to .350.)

In my league, the mound was lowered and the league batting average moved from 247 to 252 and the league era moved from 3.69 to 4.

In the 60 years since, the league batting average has gone anywhere from 250 to 270 and the league era has fluctuated from 3.87 to 4.89.

Seems reasonable to me.

Thanks Roy -- the results you're seeing are very much in line with the sort of fluctuations that I'm hoping to experience with this switch turned on.

I never checked this box, but in a league I simmed 25 years before joining in, the League Ave. went from .246-.279 and LgERA 3.64-4.72 in one league, and .258-.286 and 4.05-4.65 in the other league. In those 25 years I have had 3 players hit over 400 (.4207 is the highest in the second year of sim actually) and 20 times over .380. Is there a way to make it less offense friendly?
