2 Ballpark Questions

I couldn't get a single answer when I posted this in the "New to the Game," forum, so hoping I'll have better luck here.

1. Can you download ballparks from add-ons central and incorporate them into a fictional league already in progress, or do you have to start a new game?

2. What is the procedure for doing this? A step-by-step guide would be helpful for someone not that computer literate.

Thanks.

Preface: this is all for non-3D stadiums

I'm sure you can, but don't have the game in front of me. I can only speak from what I've done in past and current versions of the game.

Ballparks | OOTPMODS.COM

That link has a whole bunch of different stadiums to choose from (I'm highly biased towards the "Best of Blueturf/Ctorg/Henry/Teflon Skies Fictional Ballparks" pack that I've used for years.

Once downloaded, the .jpg's need to be put into the ballpark folder (I am not sure if it is in your saved game folder or just within the OOTP main folder. As you said you aren't very tech savvy, I hope you can find where I am talking about. I don't have the link, but by reading some of the other posts here, hopefully you can find it.

That's the hardest part, then it's all in-game stuff that needs to be done. This (Out of the Park Baseball Manual) provides a good guide to get them set up.

If you're in a fictional league than yes those fictional stadiums in the link above are great, I use them as well. You can also go on the Wiki page and find ballpark photos (especially minor league ones) there as well. There's a lot of great stuff on there that you can find and download. :-0

Another quick question. My ballparks file is in a default data folder and listed as a TAR file. Is there a way to open it so you can see pictures of the various parks?
