Need Help

Currently in season 4 of my franchise...have been using real photos, however, with all the movement, I thought it was time to switch over to the facegen photos to help me when seeing players and make it easier identify them.

Went to the start screen, under preferences, turned facegen on. Then, went into the game and under advanced clicked on player and pic options, I set player pics for all players. Then saved and exited.

Re-opened the game, went into saved game's\leagues\ news\html\images\person_pictures folder and deleted everything that doesn't start with default.

Restarted the game, took a while to reload, got to my team home screen and the facegen pics were there for my leaders, however, the game would not respond each time I tried to click on an option.

I had to force close the game from here, cause it had become unresponsive. Re-opened, same thing.

I am running my game on a Mac, I am currently using version 14.4. Tried the latest a few months back, however, that would not allow me to even open my game. Went back through time machine to 14.4 and the game ran fine.

May have to do the same unless someone knows how to run the game correctly using facegen.

Any idea if patch 14.7.42 fixes this? I'm hesitant to upgrade after having problems with 14.6

If I were you I'd keep your current version and install the full version of 14.7.42 to a different location and not the default. Then you can test run it and see if it causes problems. If it does, then you can always uninstall it.
14.7.42 was basically released to resolve issues with the Mac version and I've not heard of any major problems with it.
You can install more than one copy of ootp onto the same computer and not use up your second license.


As to your facegen problem, you missed a step in preferences/facegen or didn't mention it. Set the picture search option to "search for photofit (facegen) file first". It may have already been set if you didn't change it to search for photo first when you were using real pics.
Also, when you deleted the photos from the person_pictures folder, you should have also deleted any photos in the profile_pictures folder as well.
Once all facegen options are set. Restart ootp and let it build the new photos.

Thanks for the reply...I rolled the dice last night with the latest patch and everything appears in working order. The game is moving quickly, no lags or crashes. Fingers crossed.
