Hitting Streak

Check this out: this kid stretched his hit streak to 41 games by hitting a walk-off, 3-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.

It may not be my team, but I've been following this guy's run all season; it's been fantastic to watch, and I just had to point out the manner in which he did it this time.

Nice

Edit - just noticed - very cool, he's got a hit in every game he's played in.

Sweet. It's amazing how one can get caught up in their baseball world.

I often think when I get older I'll be in a home somewhere and telling a staff member about the Cubs HOF left fielder Mickey MacMorran and what a great hitter he was. Of course they'll think I'm going senile, but in my mind he's damn near as real as Billy Williams.

Yep. This season, anyway. He was a decent hitter for his first couple years in the league, but he pretty much exploded onto the scene this season. He's almost single-handedly pulling the Mariners out of the cellar.

It happens before you reach the retirement home. Trust me.

Credit Gern for the design. I was inspired by his Colored Home MLB set (somewhere in the depths of the Graphics forum by now); it's my take on his design, with altered colors for a lot of teams.

EDIT: Btw, I will get to your other uni requests tomorrow; I had a busy day today.

I had a rookie end a 21 game hitting streak recently, thanks to going 0 for 2 with 3 BBs. Then have I think another 8 gamer.

Update: Corona's hit streak ended at 43 games. Longest I've seen in OOTP so far.

Pretty much.

I love when random events create massive, unintentional storylines.

Back in OOTP11 I ran a sim where, in 1999, Manny Ramirez had a 71-game hit streak. I'd love to see that in real life.

The longest hitting streak I've ever seen in any of my fictional leagues was 47, although it did overlap into the next season by a couple of games.

I once had a minor leaguer have around a 42 game hit streak over a three season period due to chronic injuries. Ended up being your typical AAAA guy that would rake in the minors and then hit .175 in the majors while being injured three times a year.

That was awesome...hit streak, great way to continue it...busted

I have Chuck Knoblauch in my Strike Three Dynasty with his second 20+ hit streak and it's only the end of June. I am watching him as soon as he gets back.

Weird thing is I have not seen a drug suspension come around yet

My best drug suspension story was that I once created a player based on a girl I know to be the first woman to play in my fictional league, and she got a 10 game drug suspension just before opening day lol.
