Free Agency Problem
I run a league that is using OOTP6.5, in our 6th season.
Whenever we go on to Free agency, if a player is a FA two years in a row, whenever I import the offers, the offers from the previous year are imported. For example: In 2008, Colorado bids for Bobby Abreu...2 years/$5 million. Abreu signs with Florida for 2 years/$7million. Florida releases him at the end of the year. Now in 2009, Colorado hasn't bid on him this offseason, but when I import the FA offers, the 2 years/$5 million offer is imported. This has happened in the past, but we've just manually fixed it. I was just wondering how to clear previous FA offers. |

Make sure all old files/imports(team exports) are deleted.

I went into the ootp folder in the ftp and deleted all the .exp files.
It still happened. |

I think you need to delete the exports on the web server also (if I recall free agent offers are of the format "FA*.dat"). OOTP will grab ALL offers in the /exports directory from your server when you "Import FA Offers". I'm pretty sure it doesn't see a difference in this year versus previous years. In my league, I clear out ALL the exports at the end of the season.
FYI - you can do this with an FTP client or (if you have it on your web server) cPanel File Manager. |
