How can I clear my history

Ok, after several seasons that I simmed, I decided to start over and reset the league. But I when I look in the history, it still has my old history. Any way to clear it, so I can start fresh?

You have to make a new league, history won't totally clear.

I think when you "Reset" the league through the league options, all of the text files retain any text that was in it. I found this out after doing a few Initial drafts, then resetting after the draft and drafting again. After doing that, all of the team histories would keep a list of every draft that I ran and just added them to the text that was already there.

One thing you may be able to do is create a new league with the same exact structure, and copy the empty text files from that into your "good" league.

To clear all player histories in one fell swoop, go into the NEWS/players folder.

Hit Select+A for select all, then delete.

The game will create new empty files for the player histories.

The history pages are just text files..

If you only want to delete select data from the history, just go into the files and delete the data you don't want.

Then save and you're all set.

Scott, Do yo uknow if just playing on wil "overwrite" the history? When our league first started we were all new to the game and ran test but some of the old data is still there, as we play on past were we tested to will all the old stuff be replaced with the new?

WWBL,

"Reset" clears the database files. The remaining pieces that don't get erased are in the TXT files. Depending on what you want to do, selective deletions of the TXT fles will, as Scott said, create new, empty ones.

Best thing to do since we're not sure what you want to keep and what you don't, is to double click on each TXT file which will open it in Notepad. If it isn't what you want to keep, delete the file - if it is just leave it

I'm not Scott, but I can answer that. The history does NOT overwrite. It appends itself to the end of the text file.

Could you also just delete the other text files like LHistory, Team1, etc like you can with the player text files, or will the cpu not recreate them ?

Actually you can just delete the 'players' subfolder, once a new p###.txt is created it will also re-create the players folder.

Basically any file that is inside the news folder can be deleted and the game will recreate it when needed (ie delete the lnohit.txt and when another no-hitter is pitched in the league the file will be re-created.)
