162 vs154

Did the American League actually play 162 game and the National League play 154 games in 1961?

Good point. I concede. BTW, how do you handle 1981? For 1972, I played the games that were missed at the beginning so all teams played 162. As you suggest, it was easy. If someone chooses to play an as-played schedule for 1972 you get teams with 154, 155, 156, and 157 games played.

1995 had everyone playing the same amount of games, but it was only 144 that year because the strike continued into late March.
