Concussion=6 months out
Title says it all. Seems like it's more than a concussion, but I'm no doctor.

I don't think it's too far-fetched. It seems like for some NHL players at least eventually one keeps them out for half a season or so. If it's your first one, yeah, you might only be out for a few days, but IINM the more you have the worse they're likely to be.

It would be more accurate to list it as post-concussion syndrome.

If your experiencing some serious vertigo, I can imagine playing baseball could become quite difficult!
Regarding the NHL... recently Sidney Crosby can confirm that concussions can potentially keep you out of commission for quite sometime. |

Concussions have ended careers. Ask Mike Matheny.
A severe concussion or the post concussion symptoms could easily last 6 months or more.

Sidney Crosby missed ten and a half months with a serious concussion, played eight games and then missed another four and a half months.
If I ever get around to writing up my idea for re writing OOTPs injury system, concussions would stack and every one after the first one would incur additional missed time and have a chance of ending a career. A concussion is a brain injury, they can range from relatively mild to quite serious and even life threatening. |

concussions are no joke and truth be told I may never be the same. and yes we are talking about a game, but it is more realistic than you might think

Ryan Church missed most of the 2008 season with the Mets because of the effects of a concussion. Six months is rare, but not unrealistic.

Concussions have ended careers. Not the same sport, of course, but I'd have gladly accepted a six month recovery for Marc Savard.

Seems legit.
Justin Morneau, more recently, was out for quite a long time due to an initial concussion and then another one when he came back. |

And former Twin Corey Koskie was out for several seasons before he recovered and could play, but it ended his career for all intents and purposes.

Mauer was out for the end of August and all of September last season due to a concussion. Denard Span also missed a good chunk of a season due to one a few years back.

Tell me about it. I'm in a AL only fantasy league and had Span the year he got his. But, last year was even worse. I traded for Mauer (gave away Anibal Sanchez) right at our leagues trade deadline. The very day Mauer became active for my team was the day he got hurt. I thought he would be out a week or so, but after the 2nd week, I knew I was in trouble.
