New Guy Here, A Few Questions
Hi, I have been a MLB the Show Player for the past few years, and have made the jump to OOTP! Im glad to be here! I have a few questions and issues i'd like help on if possible
1. Is there a way to make a custom roster using players from all eras and minor leagues? I figured out how to import historical teams using fictional league settings, but if i wanted to make custom rosters from many various sources including minor league teams this might take awhile, so if there is a simpler way let me know. 2. Is there a way to make ages of players different in Fictional league? If I import players from past eras (in my case the 2005 nationals) using the current year (2016) as my template, a lot of the ages of the players from the 2005 squad will be very old, and will most likely retire when my season ends. Is there a way to make the ages the same as they were in their historical seasons? example: a player that was 21 in their 2005 season is also 21 in the current simulation, not 32. I bet there is a way to do this one by one but if anyone knows of a way to make it for all players at once, that would be wonderful. Thanks so much! |

if it's more than one team, you can make use of the export functions in the game for players - nothing you can do about coaches but hand-edit, though. anyway, make use of a spreadsheet to mass edit YoB columns using a formula in an unused column - May need to use a formula to fill for each team, but still WAY faster than hand-edits. if not familiar with spreadsheets?? use their built in help? lol google works well. it's simple stuff i bet you can ad-lib. =b2+30 (YoB first field is b2 for the 1986 mets, and you want to adjust age to 2016) then highilght hte cell, move cursoe to lower right portion, drag down same # as players on the 1986 mets. copy/paste that over original YoB column for 1986 mets. (obviously, do this after editing all the teams that need a change so you can copy/paste all at once.) believe it's sorted by team id... w/e it is... just sort back to that if you need to sort by teamID. i doubt it matters... it really shouldnt. don't worry what happens to commented, "//", lines. when done doing that for each team you imported from a different year, re-import that Players CSV file into the game and all their YoB's have changed. make sure you deleted any 'work-in-progress YoB' columns etc.. just the exported data only before you import back into the game.
