How to know when a player deserves to be promoted
I have a hard time figuring out when a player from the minors deserves to be promoted.
Do you guys have any stats you go by to determine when they should move up? I heard WAR was a good one. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk |

I don't know if this is the best method, but I essentially use war.
For hitters or starting pitchers, 2 WAR and they are promoted. If their ERA+ or OPS+ are 120 or better after two months or more, they also get promoted. For relievers, I would say 0.5 WAR after half a season or 1 WAR after a full season is good enough to promote. |

Age, stats, team needs and gut feeling are my primary factors. I don't have a set pattern I follow.

I'm very much a feel guy even though I favor advanced stats overall. If a guy has speed contact and is defensively competent he will get a good look from me.
