Yes, Team Top Prospects is now League Top Prospects. A bug.

There remain problems with AI bullpen roles, or at least bullpen usage. In my MLB Quickstart, for the second time in a month, the computer had to bring in a catcher to pitch in a close game because all the relievers were wasted with 0.1 and 0.2 IP outings. The AI way too often replaces relief pitcher X with relief pitcher Y in a close game even when X and Y are both right-handed (or both left-handed). I think perhaps the game defaults to "whoever is most likely to get the batter out" in a late, close game, but these "change a righty for a righty after 0.1 IP" situations just don't happen a lot in real life, in my opinion.

Since the latest patch the background crowd noise remains but umpire calls, bat sound etc have all gone. I've updated drivers but to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem?

This was an issue I had with 16. The AI would very often use the lefty specialist for one batter, then replace him with another lefty if the next batter up was also a lefty.

I had the same problem once before. When I updated my video drivers it worked. You said you updated your drivers. Did that include video drivers?

I still can't download the patch. I always get a failed error at the end of the download when I download from the main site. In the past they've always provided a mirror site but I don't see one listed this time.

be reasonable... if you restrict it too much, all the slower developing or delayed development will never occur. you will not generat as many players for the majors. many will never get the opportunity because the game will will retire them regardless of potential when they are too old for a league they are not good enough to play in.

most of what is below is not thoroughly tested - just using common sense. i don't want to create a situation where they are "of age" and only have 1 season to advance once they get promoted, too. so, 2 things to worry about as they move through your system... always base # of service Years on "worst case scenario" that you want to occur. (maybe you want to increase how many don't make it even though they have the potential - in that case use small values -- nothing is wrong if it's what "you" want in the game.) also, switching from *current settings to new ones will take a bit of time of transition... before observing results, sim out ~10 years first.

only suggestions:

4-5years in R is good for me - i think i actually do 4yrs / 6yrs for Rookie / Short-A, respectively....
6yrs for A

8-9yrs for AA -- you could go a bit lower, but if you cut it more than 2 years (=6 as limit), i'd test it by simming out and watching the overall results on your minors. also, do you want that recently promoted guy with ~6yrs service time to have only ~1 season to work at AA? i strongly suggest a near max or max service time req for AA, if any at all. even none would work.

none for AAA
Thanks buddy, I'll definitly try those settings instead of my old age limit

Not happening in my leagues. Why are so many bugs limited in scope?

For me, at first the prospects were correct, but after I advanced and played a few games then the prospects list became the league prospects. So at first I thought everything was fine....until it wasn't.

From Matt's comment at http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...prospects.html then everyone is.

If you don't have the team top prospects as one of your panels then you wouldn't notice though.

At the end of my current season, I noticed some players showed up in the News as retiring but they did not actually retire.

All video drivers updated but still no change. I've posted it on tech board.

Just curious if, in light of the recent posts, there's going to be another final patch that addresses the "top prospects" issue that numerous people are running into?

I'm also a little concerned about that whole "news said someone retired but they didn't" thing mentioned by Orcin. Has anyone else seen that?

They were diagnosed with "Brett Favre Syndrome" which states that old quarterbacks never die, they just pass away. ;-)
