Well.... actually it was more like the suits at SEGA only wanted the big name FM and couldn't be bothered with the little fish that was OOTP. You know the game that would never be able to support having an MLB or MLBPA license

SEGA's loss is our gain Instead of getting only 2-3 patches per year....

which would mean waiting til late June - early July for the second one to fix bugs still left from release and patch #1. Then the final patch to come in late Aug - early Sept. Of course if that broke something too bad as the suits at SEGA would make us wait til next year to have those fixed.

... we get whatever it takes from Markus to get the game right.

Getting the rewrite of the code under the SI umbrella was indeed a great thing. Then getting kicked to the curb when SEGA came in was disappointing as it seemed OOTP's opportunity at the big time was being roadblocked. Turns out it may have been the best thing that could have happened, for now here we sit with a developer that cares and who doesn't have a bean counter sitting behind him telling him what he can and can't do.

As a long-term FM fan (I've played the games since 1998), their ongoing inability to release a balanced match engine at launch (or even patch one together many months after release), coupled with the negative attitude of the developers and moderators on their forums... well, it's pretty much turned me off the series.

OOTP is a breath of fresh air in a lot of ways.

Everyone who bought via Mac is still waiting for 17.5.43 correct? Its been 11 days. Haven't been able to start my league. Just making sure its not just me.

Wow! Still no update for OOTP 17 Update #2, Version 17.5.43 via the Mac App Store. Bummer... Update #3 will be even longer.

I just got a new computer and couldn't download my unused second license. It said that it has already been used . Any help on this matter?

I'm a little confused here...I'm playing on an IMAC and downloaded 17.6.46 from ootp's website a few days ago, moved the .dmg to applications, overwrote the older version, and have no issues playing the game. It shows I'm using version 17.6.46 on the games startup screen. Is there an issue I'm missing?

Those that bought from the Apple App store are still waiting for it to be posted there. If you bought it directly from OOTP you have the latest version available.

froze on activation key entry, worked after 2-3 tries.

Yes. I started an all rookie league by the 2nd year of free agency over 50 players were making $25 to $48 million.

The teams are broke and loads of good players go unsigned because of this.

I'm having more problems like 1 star OF like Felix Pie getting a 7yr/$18MM deal from the Giants after spending the entire 2016 season in Mexico.
