New OOTP 17 public BETA available! Version 17.2.31

Hey folks,

we have worked all weekend and have been able to fix almost all of the problems & bugs that were reported. And in order to make sure we caught everything and did not screw things up in the process, we decided to release a new beta version for you today. The version number is now 17.2.31 Beta.

Here is the current changelist:
- Improved 2016 MLB roster sets (need to start a new game for changes to apply)
- Fixed real time simulation mode
- Fixed errors in the historical databases
- Fixed bullpen logic and pitcher fatigue issues
- Pitchers in the bullpen now warm up quicker
- Improved draft AI
- Improved 3D animation (Errors, PB/WP, short singles, etc)
- Fixed 3D errors with user input options
- Fixed game widget displays
- Fixed error with reliever ratings going crazy
- Fixed future projected finances
- Fixed several small bugs and cosmetic issues
- Should run on Mac OS X 10.7 now

A few known issues still remain:
- FaceGen on Mac for real players still does not look ideal

Update Info: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current OOTP 17 installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Still seeing quite a few high scoring games. 27-7, 14-2, 10-9, 12-6 etc..

I know this does happen in baseball, it just seems to be happening a bit more than I'd like to see.

You guys noticing the same thing?

The first draft is still messed up. 41 picks in round 1 (no supplementary), 36 picks in round 2, 7 picks in round 3.

I'll sim a year and see if the 2nd draft does the same.

i had issues with the draft at first in my "test" games. Don't know why - but even when i put 10 rounds, it went from 45 to 77 ..... then when i changed it to 15 it stayed there. Moved it to 8 this morning and even before update, it remained. After update - remained 8. So the "test games" seem to work, hoping my "real" one does as well.

the upgrade went flawlessly. Ready to finish my 1901 season tomorrow and see how the free agents and draft thing goes ..... Thanks a bunch Marcus and CO.

No, I'm seeing nothing out of the ordinary. Two months into the 2016 season, the league ERA is exactly the same as it was in 2015 IRL.

Okay, that's good to hear then. I'll keep testing on my end but it could have just been a coincidence that the games I was looking at were high scoring.

I do hope that eventually y'all can find a way again to release smaller patches that aren't an entire installer. This is a 1.5 hour download each time for some of us...

Maybe an ignorant question on my part and forgive me for being a little slow but how do we "install" this patch over the new installation? Is it as simple as just running it and it does it automatically like the installer for the game did? (That was the easiest thing I've ever done so far, which I'm thrilled about BTW).

I saw a few of those yesterday with the original Beta. When the starter gets shelled, it seemed like the AI would take em out and go through all the rest of the available relievers over the course of the game. Towards the end, they would end up putting in position players to pitch, and that's when the score would really get crazy. I think that's a bug. The AI should put in somebody with high stamina, and if none are available, they gotta keep the starter in for more than 1-2 innings. At least that was my experience, I saw a team score over 35 runs at Coors and another score over 25 runs at AT&T.
