Or the worst player in minor league history... I think he's now an NFL all-pro player

This is my nation hero (I am from Taiwan), does anyone know his name? Though he was played in big league for a very very short time, I am glad now I could play him in Los Angels Dodgers's historical game He performed 30HR-30SB in his first minor league season in 1999. I'm not so sure Chin-Feng Chen would have an accurate career path, though. Debuting with 30/30 in A-ball would give him great current ratings for a 21yo player.

I would make a Roster with all the 2 Sport People that also have played Baseball.

It will be interesting to see how the database handles busts. Is a Brien Taylor rated any differently than never-weres who never were considered prospects?

My guess is that players like him will have low initial ratings and high potential, with personality / injury proneness ratings that make them less likely to pan out.

It would be great if, say, he has a chance of being a star in OOTP with the development engine enabled, and destined to be a bust with recalc on.

Two things though: 1. Historical minors is a new feature and we'll certainly be tweaking it in the future, perhaps we can find a way to add the initial potentials for high draft picks that never panned out. This is likely an OOTP18ish thing though. 2. In the meantime, it should be possible for anyone who wants these guys to have their "proper" initial potential ratings to easily make this happen in the editor once they've been imported in their draft year. You can easily look up list of say the 1st round picks in a given year and then edit those guys to have higher potential in a pretty short amount of time, probably not more than a half-hour per year you want to do this. |

I understand this, it's already a HUGE work to put together the names and info of all the minor leaguers, researching which ones were at one time considered prospects is probably unfeasible. After all, they're busts, most people don't remember their careers anyways.

I assume TCR with OOTP development engine on could always see some surprises though?

You said it. I'll bet even the "great" Bill Bergen finds his way onto teams through various historical drafts in OOTP, and he had a negative WAR...in every single one of his eleven seasons as a big leaguer. Now that's quite an accomplishment.

I can't wait to see his ratings. 100+ mph fastball with a 200+ rating, a 0 rating in control, and perhaps a 5 for movement.
