Send newly drafted players to minors or let them play in NHL right away?
Hi - When drafting 18 year old players, is it best to keep them in the minors for a season or two? Or just let em play in NHL? What is better for their development?
Thanks! |

It completely depends on their rating. If a player doesn't have the current ability of at least two stars, leave them in the minors.

So they should be sent to my team’s minor-league affiliate (Eg AHL, etc) yes?

The Canadian Hockey League is an option with most players. If they are no longer eligible than the AHL. I always reassign my top prospects to the minors/juniors unless they are expected to receive significant icetime on the Pro team.
