Nation quality and league talent
I'm in the midst of setting up a world-wide baseball league. There are 8 leagues, which represent various regions around the world. Each region is tied to geographic location and I want each league to have a similar amount of talent. I know I can change baseball quality for the nations under Explore World and can change the percentages of players from each country in the league setup. (Thanks to dward for the help on this)
But how do I balance the overall quality of the leagues? If I make China with their billions of people a 5 star nation, does that upset the world talent imbalance because East Asia has access to a larger talent pool? Or does none of this matter as long as the player creation modifiers are equal from league to league? Basically I just want the average teams from all leagues to be equal to each other. |

As a follow-up to this, it seems that if the creation modifiers are all set to the same, the percentage of players overrides the country quality. So Bangladesh has non-existent talent, but once the league was created with a 15% Bangladeshi population, I got a whole bunch of good players from that country.

If you set a league up as a "major league", it defaults to MLB-quality players no matter where you locate the league or where the players come from. You would have to modify the player creation modifiers to decrease talent, but that's going to be at the league level.
Once a nation is part of a major league, all it's players are created at the level of that major league. |
