Backgrounds on Text Boxes clear
Looks like you've made a good game from what I can see.
But, sadly I'd have to say I can't make a solid judgement because I CANT see. Whenever there is any form of text at any point in the game, I dont have the black background (or white as seen in one SS) behind my text making it impossible to read. I spent 19.99 on this game hoping I could at least read the text...seeing as its a text based game. But as of now, I'm going on graphics alone to guide me through the game. For example when you get to the main screen after creating your player and being drafted (the one with the field and the stores), scroll over one of the choices, you should see a box pop up with text in it. On my screen the box is see thru with white text, and it makes it impossible to read what it says. I noticed on the SS's that these boxes are actually filled with black background, but once again, on my game they are not. White on black is readable as displayed on the sites screenshots, but white on see-thru is terrible and unviewable. It is like this on every single text box in the game for me, making 80% of the game unreadable. Thus making the game unplayable.Any help would be much appreciated. Bryan Whritenour P.S. - I hope this valued customer jazz lives up to its hype. Please get back to me ASAP! |

Go into the OOTP5 folder and open the "game config" file, toggle the 3d setting, close those things and try the game again.
If that doesn't solve it, go to start then run and type dxdiag and hit enter. The direct X utility will open and it will let you know what version of direct X you are have installed. If it is less than v9 go to http://www.microsoft.com download and install v9, reboot your computer and then try the game again. Other possible solutions: -Update your video drivers. -Change desktop color depth. Please let me know if none of these help.

Well, Im down to updating my Video Drivers and changing the color depth of my desktop...
How do I do both? (If you have to go to windows update to do it, it wont let me. It says I need ActiveX controls enabled which I apparently dont. I have no idea how to enable them either.) |

Video drivers:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...threadid=19715 Color depth: Right click on desktop, chose properties, then settings tab, lower right hand corner is color depth adjustment.

Quick response time (even at an early hour), efficiency, and politeness -- that's all you can ask for with Tech Support/Customer Service.

Just to let everyone know, it was the color depth that fixed the problem.
