Using the Lineups Feature

I'm on FHM6.6.70 and am just starting to play about with the Lineups screen. Am I right in thinking that when creating lines, this feature only selects from players on your current roster ?

What I'm getting at is, for example, if your 5th choice centre is contracted to you and is on your Lineups screen but is on your AHL team - if your first choice centre is injured the Lineups feature won't automatically bring that 5th choice guy up onto your NHL roster, you have to explicitly move him up yourself. Is that right ?

For the Lineup Screen to be used, you have to give control of Roster Moves to the Assistant. So - yes, they would call him up automatically.

Thanks for this Adam.... but.....

I had originally had the "setting lineups and tactics" to Assistant. Following your reply I also set the "roster moves" to Assistant - I can see the logic to that.

However it still looks to me that the Lineups feature only selects from players on your current roster - unless I'm doing something wrong.
