I tried reducing the acceleration..
I also installed directx 9.0 about 3 times i used Norton Systemworks to view my system... it said for display 800x600 @ 64 colors..but thats not what my desktop was on.. i looked at the properties of my video card.. through device manager.. and it showed 1200 x768 which is what it needs to be either norton is wrong .. or i dont have the video card set correctly.. i looked all over for a place to change it .. but every place i saw it was on 1200 x 768 |

http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=19713 Follow this and reduce the screen res to 1024 x 768 and see if it will open, unless you have tried that also.

I have the exact same problem.
I had OOTP4, and I installed OOTP5 and 5 will not start. I get the hourglass for a second then nothing. It won't run. I checked my elicense in the control panel and it says "none" I have a GeForce4 4600 with the new 43.45 drivers DirectX 9a all latest drivers and no problems elsewhere. Runs fine on my laptop. |

Same Here
I click on it and it acts as if it wants to open the hourglass goes for like 5 seconds and it shows up in the task bar. It then does nothing. I have run scan disk, and defrag also redownloaded direct x. I may have reformat, that seems to be the only thing i can think of.
I will admit I am very happy with the response form elicence tech support. |

I'VE GOT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I TRY TO OPEN THE GAME, GET THE HOUR GLASS FOR 5-10 SECONDS, THE GAME SHOWS UP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN LIKE ITS MINIMIZED, BUT NOTHING. THE GAME IS LISTED AS "NOT RESPONDING".
I ABOUT TO GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Well good and bad news
Good news game works again, bad news it took reformatting my machine(which it needed as is). I think most my problems stymied from a web cam h ookup gone bad, as my studio aka winamp also quit working and cam used dfx stuff also.

One problem some people have is an anti virus. Did you try shutting that down. Sorry if someone suggested it already

Yep
Here is everything I tried:
Scan Disk Defrag Diagnostic program from above thread shut off my anti-virus software closed any programs that may cause a problem Finally - reformat and it works As i said It hink the logitech cam i had bought may have left some lingering affects as my winamp stopped working also. |

This is now happening to me. I installed the latest Windows XP updates, not sure if that is the problem, but I cant get either ootp4 or 5 to load anymore. I installed, reinstalled several times. I even unistalled Elicense and still nothing. It seems as if my licenses in the elicense control disappeared also.
