Seattle NHL Team...
...does the NHL automatically expand in 2021 to accommodate the as-yet-unnamed Seattle NHL team?

It has to be added manually right now. That may change in a later update.

In case you’ve never done a manual expansion before, keep in mind that the entry draft will happen before the expansion. Which means that your expansion team won’t participate in what should be its first entry draft.
If that sounds odd to you, essentially rendering the expansion feature unplayable, you’re not alone. But don’t try to talk to the developers about it unless you enjoy being threatened and talked down to. They seem to have the severely misguided notion that nobody else here has ever coded anything and the fact that we would have the nerve to ask for something clearly means we have no idea how many requests they get(even though we can see them too), or how everybody thinks their request should be a priority(because pointing out that you’ve been asking for something for years means you think it should be done first, apparently), and how it’s not that simple(even when nobody said it is). No wonder I only have 100 posts in 8 years. Somehow I think I’ll live without posting once a month. |

You could always cherry pick draft choices off the other teams and add them to the expansion team.

We have clearly explained the reasoning to you, and yet as much as you claim there is this giant group of people it bothers, we've yet to see that in...any form. We are still looking for reasonable solutions but, writing something like this does not endear yourself to anyone in this community. Last edited by Adam B; 10-08-2019 at 08:05 PM. Look man, I understand your position, and it is absolutely 100% valid. This is a major issue with expansion and I hope it can be sorted out at some point. But these types of posts are not a good look.

Generally I do the Seattle expansion in year one to save time. It's kind of time consuming to have to do it in year three every single time.
