Fictional Historical season with random league evolution?

I am trying to start a league that start in 1901 with all real players (will probably do an inagural draft) and have players come into the league when they really did, but all else random.

This first part I can do in the Historical selection, but I am not able to get this to work where I can have random league evolution. I have tried custom game, but that starts with all fictional players. I have also tried the Current selection (can't remember the name. starts with 2014 with current player/teams), but this just used 2014 players.

Not sure if this is even possible, but it seems like it should be and I am just missing something.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I figured it out. To help anyone who had the same issue, here is how I did it:

Under League Settings, select Options. There is a blank space after Database. Type the whole file path in that blank. You must include the full path from the c: to the historical_data.opm. You should be good to go and the first amateur draft should have the next years crop of real rookies (unless you have the random rookies for all eras checked)

I am at work right now so am doing this from memory. If I have screwed anything up, please let me know or just correct me. Hope this helps someone. I have been trying to get this to work for about a month now.

Isn't your initial group of players fictional though?

This didn't work. Thought it looked as though it was working thru the first few years, but when I got home and it had simulated until 2013, it was all fictional players.

I tried a different approach. I simulated a historical game until 2013. Exported the rosters and stats, but wasn't able to import these into a new fictional league i set up.

I think I am giving up. If anyone tries this and finds out how to make it work, please post it so we can all join in the fun!
