StatsPlus App for Real-Time Sims

Apologies for the cross-post, but wanted to make sure that online leagues that do real-time sims, or use Slack for communications, had seen my post in the mods forum regarding the StatsPlus desktop app. Maybe your league hasn't done any real-time sims in the past, but you'd like to try them out for playoffs, or big games. This app can increase engagement in your online league - real-time sims are seriously addictive.

The app is more than just Slack integration, it also creates a parallel real-time sim page that has improvements over the default page produced by OOTP - no more white screens, no full page reload, no partial page updates, and support for live box scores in leagues that use SQL reports, for example.

Even if you are not doing real-time sims, you can use the app to have it post game results and injuries to Slack while the games are being simmed a day at a time.

Slack Integration Features:

• Slack integration for league highlights, personal team updates, and more
• Capture league highlights (e.g., no-hitters and injuries) to a common Slack channel
• Post every score update for a single team to a private Slack channel for any GM
• Post a summary of all game scores when a game day ends
• Captures scores when the sim "flips", no more wondering what happened to end the day

Enhanced real-time sim web page features:

• Avoid full page refresh, loads images only once
• No more white screens or partial page loads
• Up to 10x reduction in bandwidth usage, and 50x reduction in total HTTP requests
• Supports live box scores for leagues with SQL reports (OOTP doesn't support this by default)
• Splits association leagues across multiple tabs
• Very mobile-friendly
• For OOTP17, upload live WPA graphs during the sim
• Upload final game box scores and game logs as each game completes (OOTP doesn't upload the last box or log for games during the sim)

I've been running a league doing daily real-time sims for some time now (USBA), and the league absolutely loves having Slack updates in real-time while the sim is running, and the improved web page. There are a handful of leagues successfully using the app now, and I've love to get a few more leagues going.

This is a MUST HAVE for any ONLINE league that has an active group of members that sign in to SLACK to chit chat and watch the league LIVE SIM games.

It has taken the OOTP LIVE SIM feature to a whole new level of enjoyment!

Thanks Dave for all the hard work you have put into this utility for OOTP and thanks for your quick responses to help improve the utlity and listen to our feedback.

If OOTP wanted to help grow additional sales they would try to integrate this into their game moving forward as more and more leagues are heading to the use of SLACK over less dynamic forums.

We've been using this in iMLB for a few weeks now, and overall activity is up, and activity during live sims is fantastic. Dave is very talented, and has created a great supplement for any online league that live sims regularly.

Definitely a must have for any online league that real time sims their games! A great addition and an app that is only getting better.

Dave has worked extremely hard on the program and has also worked with each of us to implement the features that StatsPlus has. The Slack integration is awesome and everyone in my league only had positive feedback!

Champions League Baseball has been using the app for a few sims now and it is working great. Runs much smoother then the normal sim. And Dave is working on adding features and improving the app on a daily basis.

2 years ago, I saw Dave had posted about Slack integration with this very same idea. However, he used Python, and it was very complicated to set up. Im an IT guy, and i struggled with setting it up. Now, he has released a product that is incredibly user friendly and straight forward. It is an excellent addition to my league, and he has just released an update improving upon his original product. Only 2 weeks ago did i suggest to him an idea for an improvement, and he has already implemented it. It is a great addition to any online league, and he is great with walking you through the setup if you have any questions. If you are thinking about this, dont hesitate, use it. Its great.

StatsPlus v0.7.0, a major new release of the app is available, with a long list of new features:

- Multiple league support (for people that run sims for multiple leagues)
- Export and import of config for sharing with co-simmers
- Make link to the new real-time sim page clear in the app
- Show total size of files uploaded
- Configurable delay for Slack posts (if Slack is too far ahead of sim page)
- Clicking "Add New Team" no longer jumps back to top of config screen
- Post scoring highlights found in individual box section of main OOTP real-time sim page
- Parse "Special Notes" in box scores (injuries and records)
- Most highlights from box score include link to player on league reports
- Game Logs for leagues with SQL reports - pushed at end of game
- More efficient watching of WPA image files, if enabled
- "More highlights" option (all HRs to common channel)

There are quite a few online OOTP leagues using this app now to integrate game results with Slack.

Even if you are not doing real-time sims, you can use the app to have it post game results and injuries to Slack while the games are being simmed a day at a time. This can really increase engagement in a league using Slack.

I've really enjoyed using Stats+ for my league. I am excited to hear the new feature allowing two leagues to run since I am a glutton for punishment and run two leagues myself!

New release of StatsPlus app is available, v0.8.1. Only a few changes from 8.0, definitely not a required upgrade.


Features added:
- Parse OOTP injury log and post diagnosed injuries to Slack
- Properly handle first-time ever real-time sim from OOTP
- Few minor fixes for Slack-only operation
- S+ website upload support for scouted ratings
- Few more FTP robustness changes to recover from errors

The most interesting will be the parsing of the injury log. If you enable this in Slack settings (disabled by default when upgrading), after OOTP generates the League Info->Injury Log file (example page: https://usba14.us/reports/leagues/le..._injuries.html), if the app is running it will find new injuries and post to Slack. The league pages that are watched are those that are enabled for real-time sim in-game. Important: OOTP only generates this page when you visit it in game or when you generate reports.



Great App its new wave and on the rise and developer loves input and feedback and of course hearing that we love using it Developer is always updating the app and working on other Projects in the S+ family so definitely a must for leagues.


As mentioned above yes there is a S+ Website which IN MY Opinion replaces OOTPOU and StatsLab But it is stilling in the Alpha/Beta testing phase as more features are being added and things being coded and bugs fixed and being developed. My League love the S+ Website and the S+ App . The S+ App allows gms to watch the real time sim using the S+ generated page while seeing real time slack posts about the games and it really adds to the ootp experience and brings up the league chatter a few notches

I've been using the Stats+ app for running live sims during our games. It's a huge hit with the guys in my two leagues and I have to say it's very easy to use. After a short learning curve by me I was up and running and loving it.

I'm looking forward to the newest edition the Stats+ Website which will allow us to track stats of all kinds on this site as well as pull reports of various types depending on ones interest or need. It can also be used as our utility for drafts and other things. Can't wait to get this going !

Stats Lab and OOTPOU are amazing Programs made by great people and I have enjoyed Both to their fullest potential, but Stats Plus integrates your utility and your Chat/Forum together. The Possibilities are endless. About the only thing you wont be able to do is Make Roster Changes and export while on Slack!!!! If you are in, or more specifically Run an online league, this is your future! Embrace it!

Stats + is a big hit for my league especially with the Slack coordination and real time sims. Seems like with the Stats + website we can manage our teams without being in the game. It's the best utility program that we've ever had for OOTP !
