Altered States Baseball Association RULES The basic rules and procedures for the Altered States Baseball Association (ASBA) are below, broken down into specific categories. The ASBA is created for the enjoyment of its members and to re-write the modern history of Major League Baseball. We began our journey in 1941 during a time when there was no World or Korean Wars and many players we knew of flourished in the 1940s and on into the 50s. Also because of this there will be more Japanese players available and the Negro leagues will also feed into the ASBA as no color barrier exists. League Structure 16 teams ( 8 per league) 2 Leagues AL & NL 3 Minor Leagues ( AAA, AA, A ) 154 game season Coaches and Scouts turned off No DH rule Sim Schedule The League Commissioner will simulate the regular season daily 7 days per week unless stated differently via league wide email in advance. Each simulation will consist of one week’s worth of games, unless otherwise stated on Slack The World Series will be done over 2 sims Financials We'll be using historical financials from 1946 and progress each year as time goes on but there is no free agency. We are under the Reserve Claus Era rules. Amateur Draft The Amateur Draft is 10 rounds The Amateur Draft is conducted through OOTPOU Email lists may be submitted Rosters 25 man Major League roster 30 man AAA, AA & 35 man in A League roster limit Minor League Ghost players used to fill unused minors roster spots 40 man roster (player must be on 40 man roster to move to 25 man ML roster) Disabled List All players on a Major League roster who are injured may be place on the Disabled List for either 15 days or 60 days Waivers Waiver period is 8 days Player on 40 man roster must clear waivers before being removed form 40 man roster Players on Major League roster without Option years must clear waivers to move to Minors Waiver claims made in game (Forum has area to post Waivers to bring attention to players on Waivers.This is optional and is designed for moving unwanted players) DFA (Designated for Assignment) DFA period is 15 days Players left on DFA after 15 days are subject to assignment or release at Commissioner’s discretion Free Agents Free Agent offers made in game. Trading Trade offers are to be made and negotiated via Email or SLACK Completed Trades must be posted and approved by all parties in # trades-completed channel All trades are subject to assessment by ASBA Commissioner and may be voided with explanation Draft Pick Trading currently is allowed, but those picks in the next upcoming draft only ‘Player to be named later’ deals (PTBNL) are not allowed Game Settings Scouts are disabled Scouting Accuracy 100% Coaches are disabled Injury Frequency: Low Player Actual Rating Scale: 1 - 10 Player Potential Ratings Scale: 1 - 10 Other Player Ratings Scale: 1 - 10 In Game Rules NO Designated hitter Active Roster size: 25 Players Expanded Roster Size: 40 Players Min Days of Service for one Service Year: 172 Waiver Period Length: 8 Days DFA Period Length: 15 Days Rule 5 Draft: Disabled 10/5 Trade Rule: Disabled Trade Deadline: July 31st Draft Pick Trading: Allowed Amateur Draft Date: December 1st Amateur Draft Pool Reveal Date: 60 days prior to draft
