That depends on what you have your settings to on your Manager options page. You can designate certain things to other personnel on your team.

Opening day rosters are set by the AI initially even when you control the team.

We've posted about this a lot, but we can't make the ai choose 100% accurate rosters. All we can do is rate players in a way that encourages it to make the right choices, but what it does is up to it.

If we forced it to take the 100% accurate OD rosters, 25% of the players in the league would be on waivers or DFA'd as soon as you hit 'finish day' for the first time.

To get Rosters accurate Ratings are going to be adjusted maybe.

Y'all said you will introduce Top Prospects by position. How far away is that?

So what your saying is OOTP is falsely advertising Live Rosters and Opening Day Rosters and they are not REAL because for 20 years you can't fix the AI to accept "REAL ROSTERS" without waiving or DFA 25% of the players. Do you realize how bad that sounds?

If you advertise Live Rosters, most people are going to expect today's rosters and not jumbled roster which you have to spend hours correcting. Defeats the point of Live Rosters doesn't it? Maybe someone should figure this out if you are promoting Live Rosters.

Will Acuna, Albies, Carpenter, Marquez, Grichuk, Xander and Bote's contract extensions be included in the official patch release?

No, because these extensions were signed after Opening Day.

"- Using incomplete minors flag will not create ghost players if roster is already almost full"

What is the cutoff for 'almost'?

I believe it's 80% of the active roster limit, with 6+ pitchers and 10 or so hitters. So if your minors limit is 30, if you have 24+ guys with a good balance we won't add unknowns. The higher the roster limit the more things change too.

FYI if you do a live start, we can parse out some contract extensions. They won't be as detailed as the actual values but out something down as an extension for them.

Hi!

We have been working hard the past week and are getting close to releasing the next patch, which is currently scheduled for Monday. But, to be on the safe side, we have decided to release a public beta first, so here it is
We have tested this build for 24 hours and did not find any issues, however use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta.

This version is compatible with previus builds in online leagues

Changelist (20.2.33):
- Updated MLB Opening Day roster set (need to create new game for changes to take effect)
- Improved live ratings update for MLB players
- Fixed some issues with too many players getting 0 uniform number
- Live Start updates: team stats gp, SP/RP stats for teams, fatigue/recent pitches, postponed games, contract extensions
- Added more detailed reason why certain players cannot be added to trades
- Fixed some rare crash issues while playing out games and when using historical lineups
- Using incomplete minors flag will not create ghost players if roster is already almost full
- Fixed standings when teams have played a different number of games than are scheduled in league
- Added an option to disable the Out Of Memory Auto Save + Close protection
- On Out Of Memory Auto Save + Close, the last save files are backed up in an incident report folder within the current save folder
- Fixed players getting phantom leadoff HR game achievements
- Fixed AI lineups changing between game preview and game start
- Fixed internal overflow calculation with a high scouting budget
- Fixed issue where relative ratings were used when setting was disabled
- Fixed not showing remainder of play after being asked to send runners (again, hopefully)
- PT: Added a "Cancel" button to the dialog that notifies users of a new league file download
- PT: Added PP earning history to History tab in the player profile tab.
- Several other small bug fixes

How to access the beta on Steam:
  • Quit OOTP 20 if it's running.
  • Open Steam client -> Library
  • Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 20
  • Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
  • Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp20pubbeta
  • Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
  • Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
  • Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.
Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Download link for PC Beta:
Main server: PC Installer

Here's a PC installer that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:
PC Single Folder Installer

Download link for Mac:
Main Server: Mac OSX Installer

Download link for Linux:

Please post here if you have any issues or if you run into major bugs. Thanks!

Cheers,
Markus & the entire OOTP Team
If we downloaded the Beta patch released last Friday, do we still need to download the patch that was released today?

Brett Lawrie continues to plague the Brewers Opening Day roster. Needs to be switched with Jesus Aguilar.
