Hamtramck Stadium

I built this to use with my Negro League games. This park was built in the early 1930s for the team's Detroit teams. There if very little information, picture wise, available for this park. I could not find any pictures of it from when it was in use but found someone's sketch from that period. I also found pictures of the renovation as a historical place. So, I used Clem's baseball diagram and built this models using Mike Silva's most outstanding videos about how to build a park in sketchup. It may not be all that accurate, but is the best I could come up with. Also, as far as I can tell, there were no lights. So, I assume they played only day games there. I could not find a way in OOTP to change the start times of games.

I plan to upload 2 versions of it tonight, 1 with sketchup and 1 without, tonight in case anyone wants to use it.

I cleaned up some stuff on this park and modified the background so that it looked more like the 1930s, i.e. no skyscrapers or other huge buildings! Just go to the about links if you are interested.

Thanks so much for this historical ballpark once used in the Negro Leagues. Since the NeL from 1920 through 1948 is now considered major leagues for statistical purposes it is good that various ballpark creators continue to add to the list of historic NeL parks.

No Pepper has kindly given me his upcoming Negro Leagues uniform set so I can pre-test them. Since I now have his uniform set and since Hamtramck was used in 1937 by the NeL Detroit Stars, I set up a game between the Stars and the 1937 NeL Indianapolis Athletics. I did have to manually correct the rosters of both teams to reflect those shown at the primary source Seamheads. Besides the custom ballpark and the custom uniforms I added my own custom sounds and camera angles and placed the resulting game on YouTube.

Here is Hamtramck for a 1937 game on YouTube:

Thank you Braden!

Looks really interesting! Do you have an up-to-date link for this park?

EDIT: Never mind, found the link here:
