Non-historical retirements in historical recreations
Hi community- long time player, first time poster. Hope you all can give me some advice here...
I created a 1942 game with the Phillies (based on the scenario that Bill Veeck bought the team then an integrated them that year). To make the game operate correctly I turned on the "miss season in real life" option, thus having players like Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Bob Feller, and many others miss seasons similar to history. In 1946 I turned this off. However, I have found that the retirements that happen in game are often undone on December 15th (or whenever the new prospects enter the game) and that I have to re-retire players. Yet I miss some; for example, Dutch Leonard retired early in 1943 due to injury and I have to ensure he stays retired- I've missed a few times, and I've seen him pop up in June for the Cubs. I unchecked the box for retire due to season history- what else can I do to ensure that retirements in the game apply? |

"miss season in real life" overrides in game retirements, it is an either or situation or perhaps a darned if you do, darned if you don't one.
